Residents of Hawkesbury and the surrounding area who need COVID vaccinations can register for the mobile vaccination clinic this weekend.

The Eastern Ontario Health D(EOHU) announced Thursday that GO-VAXX Mobile Clinics are going to set up in Cornwall and Hawkesbury over the January 15 weekend. The clinics will be in Cornwall on Saturday, January 15, 1 to 7 p.m. at the Civic Complex, and in Hawkesbury on Sunday, January 16, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Robert Hartley Sportsplex.

Booking appointments for the Hawkesbury clinic begin January 15, 8 a.m., either online through the provincial vaccine clinic booking system or by phone to the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900. Advance appointments only accepted. No walk-in appointments are allowed on the day of the clinic.

The clinic will provide COVID vaccination for people who need their first, second or third dose. That includes children, ages 5 to 11.

Anyone attending the clinic must bring their provincial health card or some other form of official government photo identification. Full masking and social distancing are mandatory at the clinic. People attending for their vaccinations are should dress for winter weather conditions as they may have to wait outside as part of a line-up while waiting for their appointment. Also wear clothing such as a T-shirt or short-sleeve shirt or similar outfit that provides easy access to the upper arm for the vaccination.

Be sure to eat or drink before going to the clinic to prevent dizziness or fainting during the vaccination appointment.
