UCPR in partial lockdown again

The provincial government’s partial lockdown order took effect today and the United Counties of Prescott-Russell are following suit to help reduce the risk of spreading the Omicron variant of COVID.

Public access to the United Counties of Prescott-Russell (UCPR) office in L’Orignal and any other counties facilities will “remain restricted until further notice” according to a UCPR advisory issued Wednesday, January 5. Most UCPR staff will work from home again and residents can still phone the office at 1-800-677-6307 or send an email with questions about services, programs, or any fee or tax payments. Anyone with an emergency case related to the Ontario Works and Housing Services program should call the L’Orignal office.

All of the EarlyON centres in Rockland, Casselman and Hawkesbury are closed to the public for the duration. Check the EarlyON Centre Facebook pages for Rockland, Casselman and Hawkesbury for updates on programs and services, or phone 1-866-764-3434 or email cef-cfc@prescott-russell.on.ca.

The Ontario Works offices in L’Orignal and Rockland are closed but staff will be available by phone or email to assist residents. Phone the L’Orignal office at 1-800-667-9825 or email lss@prescott-russell.on.ca. Phone the Rockland office at 1-866-298-2228, extension 103, or email rss@prescott-russell.on.ca.

PR Transpo continues to operate. Riders must follow all public health measures while they are on the bus.

Access to the Prescott-Russell Residence is restricted to designated caregivers. Residents who have family living at the residence should call 613-632-2755 for information.

The Provincial Offences office is open for urgent cases only. Call in advance to 613-675-4661 or 1-800-667-6307 to book an appointment or get information. Payment for fines is possible by cheque or money order or through the secure online system at http://en.prescott-russell.on.ca/stay/online_payments.

The regional ambulance service continues to operate but the Plantagenet head office is closed, Anyone who thinks they may have COVID symptoms should call their doctor, or the Eastern Ontario Health Unit at 613-933-1375, or Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000. If severe symptoms, including difficulty breathing, persist, phone 911.

The trails at Larose Forest remain open to the public. Users must follow all public health orders while using the trials.

The UCPR will issue notices through its website at http://ucpr2.hosted.civiclive.com/stay/public_notices/covid-19 of any changes to services due to the pandemic.
