A large crowd gathered November 28, lining both sides of the street along South Russell Road and Concession Street in Russell Village, to watch the Christmas Parade that made its way from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School to Russell High School. Over 30 floats glided past onlookers, antique firetrucks and a platoon of people on horseback just a few of the many setups, all culminating in an appearance by Saint Nick and Mrs. Claus themselves.
Mayor Pierre Leroux walked in the parade, decked out in a Christmas-themed sovesized gloves as he waved to citizens and wished them a Joyeux Noel.
The night before families lined up along rue Notre-Dame and other adjacent streets in the Village of Embrun watch the brilliantly-lighted floats drive past, courtesy of participating businesses, clubs, and community groups.
