Embrun Optimist Club virtual food drive

Embrun Optimist Club virtual food drive

The Embrun Optimist Club is once again organizing a virtual food drive for underprivileged families in the area. Last year’s fundraiser helped close to 90 families in partnership with the Good Neighbours Food Bank by providing Christmas baskets filled with food, as well as gift cards for the children. A grand total of $12,000 was raised last year.

For over 35 years, the Embrun Optimist Club has been collecting non-perishable food items, donations and gifts for the neediest families and children in our community to make their holiday season a little more enjoyable.

People in the community should know that again this year, due to the sanitary measures associated with the pandemic, there will be no door-to-door collection. As was the case last year, people are asked to donate by electronic transfer to embrun.optimiste@gmail.com (password: optimist). Cheque or cash donations will also be accepted; please seal them in a well-identified envelope and deliver to 62 Bourdeau Crescent in Embrun.

The drive ends on November 30 to give the Food Bank time to prepare the baskets. Please make sure to donate before then.
