Group combats hoarding in Prescott-Russell

The Prescott-Russell Hoarding Response Coalition (PRHRC) is launching a campaign to prevent hoarding in Prescott-Russell households. The group began in 2012 when mental health, municipal services, and social services professionals came together to reduce hoarding in the region while considering the mental health challenges of affected individuals. They aim to prevent the negative consequences of hoarding such as fires and evictions.

The PRHRC will be distributing a bilingual factsheet called « 10 Steps to a Safer, Healthier, More Comfortable Home », which will be handed out alongside fire prevention campaigns conducted by the fire departments. The factsheet was made possible through HSJCC Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Prescott and Russell and Akwesasne, the Wellington Guelph Hoarding Network, and the Canadian Mental Health Association Champlain East.
