Some of Deloitte’s financial advisory offices in the area may have MNP logos in future.

Deloitte and MNP are two of the largest professional service companies in Canada, providing financial advice and other services for their clients. The two firms announced an agreement February 12 where MNP will acquire part of Deloitte’s Canadian operations. The deal takes effect March 1 and includes offices, employees, and any partners of Deloitte.

The agreement involves 70 partners of Deloitte’s Canadian operations, almost 900 employees, and about two dozen Deloitte offices in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Québec. Both Deloitte and MNP have offices in these provinces.

MNP will add 20 offices to its existing operations in Québec and will also have new offices in Windsor and Hawkesbury in Ontario. The two firms have notified all employees and clients affected by the changeover. Both firms now wait for final approval of their agreement by the federal Competition Bureau.

Deloitte has provided financial auditing and other services to several  municipal governments in the Prescott-Russell region. As of press time EAP had not received a reply from Deloitte’s local office about whether the deal with MNP will affect Deloitte clients in the region.
