The Kin Club of Russell’s popular Catch the Ace draw will return this weekend after shutting down during the provincial lockdown.

The draw will be held on Sunday and tickets can be bought online until 11:59 p.m. on Saturday. The draw’s jackpot was estimated at $185,000, while the weekly win was expected to be more than $15,000.

The Kin Club postponed the draw in mid-January, after the Ontario government reintroduced a state of emergency and a stay-at-home order across the province. The draw was the most successful so far for the club, and had attracted players from as far away as Windsor.

At least 7200 tickets were sold online for the coming draw to 1550 buyers. Some 150 buyers had purchased 10 or more tickets, while 19 bought more than 30 tickets. The club tried to keep the community engaged during the lockdown with live “catch-up” videos on Facebook, as well as highlighting fans, office pools and other online activity.
