Firefighters from both municipalities used an all-terrain vehicle to reach the cabin, located in woods on the Prescott-Russell side of Russland Road, shortly after 12 p.m. on Tuesday. The fire was extinguished by 1:45 p.m., but the road remained closed to traffic for some time.

Nobody was inside the cabin at the time of the fire, which heavily damaged the structure and had started to spread to nearby trees before crews arrived. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
