Almost everyone at some time now has bought something online either from Amazon or some other commercial website. Sometimes the item does not live up to expectations and trying to return it through the online service is more trouble and expense than the item is worth.
The Hawkesbury Police Services Board and the Hawkesbury OPP detachment announce the launch of the Safe Trade Zone project, a new community service. The goal is to provide a safe site where people can exchange items they bought online.
The official launch of the project is October 30, during a media information session at the detachment, which coincides also with the launch of the annual Crime Prevention Week campaign during the first week of November. Details on how the Safe Trade Zone program will work will be published at a later date.
