Russell County OPP kept busy on the road during July and August with various alcohol-related driving situations.

A few of the incidents also resulted in other charges against the driver concerned. All individuals charged are scheduled for a provincial court session in L’Orignal at a later date. All drivers charged had their licences suspended on-site for 90 days and their vehicles impounded for seven days.

Canada Day evening on County Road 17 near Rockland saw Chris Blake Joyce, 36, of Ottawa, charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood-alcohol content exceeding 80 milligrams.

An accident on St-Pierre Road in Embrun July 11 resulted in Jesse-Mitchell Daniel Dutt, 35, of Embrun charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood-alcohol content exceeding 80 milligrams.

An early-morning traffic stop July 15 on Highway 417 near the Casselman exit resulted in Moussa Balla Kanoute, 28, of Montreal, Quebec, charged with refusing a Breathalyzer demand, driving with a suspended licence, and driving while having an open container of liquor in his vehicle.

Police received a call before midnight July 16 about an accident on Rollin Road in the City of Clarence-Rockland. Mary Natalie Alice Whitmore, 45, of Ottawa was charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 80 milligrams.

A late-night traffic complaint on Route 500 West in The Nation Municipality July 22, resulted in Vicky Rosie Gibeault, 28, of Limoges charged with driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 80 milligrams.

An evening traffic stop July 31 on Notre-Dame Street/Castor Street resulted in Kimberly Anita Sutton, 50, of Russell charged with impaired driving and driving with a suspended licence.

A police radar check August 8 after midnight on Russell Road in Clarence-Rockland resulted in charges of impaired driving, driving with a blood-alcohol limit exceeding 80 milligrams, and driving at excessive speed against Daniel Penteado, 27, of Rockland.

A police check stop on Laurier Street in Rockland August 8 saw Matthew Wyatt Fraser-Miller, 29, of Rockland charged with impaired driving, driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 80 milligrams, and failing to surrender his licence when asked to do so.

An early-afternoon accident August 10 at a local business on Laurier Street in Rockland resulted in charges of impaired driving, methamphetamine possession, and driving with a suspended licence against Clayton Hayward, 48, of Rockland.

An evening traffic incident August 12 on Edwards Street in Rockland resulted in charges against Joel Desjardins, 36, of Clarence Creek, of impaired driving, having an unlicensed trailer, and driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available.

An OPP check stop August 13 afternoon on Limoges Road in LImoges resulted in charges against William Harry Petruk, 25, of Embrun of impaired driving and driving with a blood-alcohol content exceeding 80 milligrams.

A late-night accident August 14 on Limoges Road in Limoges resulted in charges against Michael C. Thorne, 44, of Limoges, of impaired driving, driving with a blood-alcohol content exceeding 80 milligrams, and distracted driving.
