The head of Eastern Ontario English Catholic school district has another job for the next two years.

Todd Lalonde, chairman for the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (CDSBEO), has been nominated to one of the 38 seats on the Ontario College of Teachers council (OCT).

“Your appointment to the council recognizes the significant commitment and contribution you have made to local community and professional organizations,” stated Education Minister Stephen Lecce, in a letter to Lalonde.

“I am extremely pleased and grateful for this appointment,” stated Lalonde, “and I am committed to expanding my role to serve in the interests of the education community.”

Lalonde’s appointment was made by the Lieutenant Governor in Council. The 37-member OTF council includes 23 seats for members elected by their peers and 14 seats for public appointment through the provincial government.

Lalonde will serve a two-year term on the OTF council while continuing as a member of the CDSBEO board.
