Local volunteers from the Cumberland Lions Club showed their love and support for front-line workers in Rockland who care for seniors.

Several members from the Cumberland pride spent a couple hours June 11 delivering pizza, sub sandwiches, and a fruit basket to front-line staff at three of Rockland’s seniors’ retirement homes in recognition of their work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

They made drop-offs at Rockland Manor, Jardins Belle Rive, and Résidence Simon.

Lions Club International provided emergency grant funds to the Cumberland chapter and other Lions Clubs throughout Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec for the front-line service tribute effort.

Making the deliveries were Lions Ray Lebeau, Michel Laroche, André Richer and Rollande Roberge. The food and fruit basket were provided courtesy of River Pizza, Jumbo Pizza, Rockland Subway, and Laviolette Flowers & Decor.
