A Québec woman faces charges for her role in a fatal accident that took the life of an Embrun resident.

Chelsea Heath, 22, of Greenfield Park, Québec, is charged with dangerous driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving resulting in bodily harm.

The Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry OPP filed official charges against Heath on May 18, after concluding their investigation of a February 24 fatal accident on Highway 138 in South Stormont Township.

Police received a report in the middle of the afternoon that day about a two-vehicle collision on the section of the highway between the Wheeler Road and Myers Road intersections.

Heath was driving the southbound vehicle, which collided with the northbound vehicle driven by Adriana Chrétien, 27, of Embrun. Chrétien was pronounced dead at the scene. Heath was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Heath has since been released from hospital, following her treatment. She is now scheduled for the July 14 provincial court session in Cornwall.
