Police seized a quantity of cocaine and a pellet gun among other items during a May 8 drug raid on a Hawkesbury residence. A 49-year-old Hawkesbury man faces charges resulting from the episode.

A Hawkesbury man faces charges following a police raid.

Members of the Hawkesbury OPP detachment, the OPP Street Crime Unit, and the Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant on a residence on Gladstone Street in Hawkesbury May 8.

Steve Roy, 49, of Hawkesbury man now faces charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose, and failure to comply with a legal undertaking.

During the raid police seized an unspecified quantity of cocaine, some Canadian currency, a pellet gun, some cell phones, and other items which are often associated with drug trafficking.

The accused was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled for a provincial court appearance in L’Orignal September 9. Meanwhile the police investigation continues and more charges are anticipated.
