Six childcare centres open for essential service workers

Essential service workers in the Prescott-Russell region now have six emergency child care centres to provide them with free and safe care for their children while they maintain necessary services for residents of the region during the COVID-19 pandemic. The United Counties of Prescott-Russell has set up the emergency daycares at locations throughout the region.

Essential service workers now have six childcare centres available to them as they maintain front-line service for residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The United Counties of Prescott-Russell (UCPR) announced Friday (May 8) that it now has arranged a total of six emergency child care centre operations to support front-line workers providing essential services for Prescott-Russell residents during the current pandemic situation.

Use of the centres is free of charge to people classed as « essential service personnel » according to the provincial government’s list. This includes those who work in hospitals and long-term care facilities, as paramedics, police, and firefighters, and in various food service industries such as grocery stores and restaurants which provide take-out or delivery service. Daycare services are available at the Centre éducatif Les Petits trésors locations in Limoges (525-A Limoges Road), Pleasant Corners (4099 Highway 34, Vankleek Hill), Wendover (3250 Principale Street), and Plantagenet (260 Main Street). Daycare services are also available at Bhakta Prahlab Montessori Daycare in Russell (1122 Concession Street, 613-668-6320, racc.info@gmail.com) and Ste-Trinité Municipal Daycare in Rockland (879 Saint-Joseph Boulevard, 613-809-2895, clamoureux@clarence-rockland.com).
