That includes another five residents testing positive for the disease and two more staff members at the nursing home. That brings the total of confirmed cases for Pinecrest to 22 now.

The initial outbreak last month at the nursing home had eight residents testing positive and three staff members. Another four cases were confirmed over the first weekend of May and now the latest confirmations have come in as part of the EOHU’s intensive assessment work going on at all long-term care facilities and group home lodging setups throughout the Five Counties region and the City of Cornwall.

As of May 7 the total number of all confirmed COVID-19 cases throughout the EOHU region is 112, including 30 at long-term care institutions. Those figures also include the deaths of two residents at Pinecrest as a result of COVID-19 complications.
