The City of Clarence-Rockland offers some relief to local homeowners on their property tax payments during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Council approved during its March 25 teleconference meeting several resolutions in response to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, offering some financial relief for homeowners and for parents who use daycare.

The municipal daycare is now closed under provincial health emergency orders to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection. Clarence-Rockland council ordered that all of its municipal daycare client accounts will get a credit for lost days because of the closure. Council also confirmed that clients will not get charged any more fees until the municipal daycare reopens.

For property owners the second interim tax levy instalment payment date is extended to May 31. The same extension applies to the water and sewer service invoices.

All tax arrears notices and property tax sales procedures are also suspended until June this year.
