Hockey season finished now for Castors

It is the end of the junior hockey season now for the Clarence Creek Castors.

The quarterfinal series between the Clarence Creek Castors and the North Dundas Rockets finished four games to three in favour of North Dundas. The Rockets now move on to the semifinals round in the National Capital Junior Hockey League’s (NCJHL) playoffs schedule.

Meanwhile the Castors players, coaching staff, and supporters focus their attention on planning the annual end-of-season supper gathering, with a date and location still to determine as of press time.

Game Six

The Rockets hosted the sixth game in the series with the Castors, Wednesday night, March 4, at the Chesterville & District Arena. The game finished 4-1 for the Castors, tying up the series three-all between North Dundas and Clarence Creek, giving the Castors hope that a semifinals berth in the NCJHL playoffs might still be possible.

Scoring single points each for Clarence Creek were Xavier Brunet, Samuel Gaudet, Jacob Servant,and Wyatt Villalta. Assisting on the goalscoring were Servant, Nicholas Gaumond, Austin LaPrade, Logan Lefebvre, and Zachary Payer. Corey Camirand guarded the Clarence Creek net.

Game Seven

Last Thursday, March 5 at the Canadian International Hockey Academy Arena in Rockland, the Castors hosted the deciding game of the best-of-seven series against the Rockets. North Dundas won the game and the semifinals berth in the playoffs schedule with a 6-3 score.

Goals for Clarence Creek came from Brandon Legare, Gabriel Rousselle, and Jayden Tadiello. Assisting on the home team scoring were Legare, Rousselle, Samuel Gaudet, and Wyatt Villalta. Corey Camirand and Andrew Larivière shared netminding duty.
