Catch the ace
The Russell Kin Club lottery draw prize for February 9 is more than $42,000. Proceeds from the Catch the Ace local lottery draw benefit six local charities dealing with health and community sports. The February 9 draw will be held at 3:15 p.m., at the Étienne Brûlé Brewery on Notre-Dame Street, in Embrun. Tickets are available at several local businesses and also online through the Russell Kin Club website. – Gregg Chamberlain
Kin Canada centennial
Kin Canada celebrates 100 years of public service on February 20. Russell Township council approved a resolution to recognize the service that the local Kin Club and its counterparts all over Canada provide to their local communities. In Russell Township, February 20 will be Kinsmen and Kinettes’ Day, while the week of February 16 to 22 will be Kinsmen and Kinettes’ Week. – Gregg Chamberlain
