Grève d’une journée dans certaines écoles de la région
The walkout affected public English and French school districts like the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) and the Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de Ontario (CEPEO) and French Catholic boards like the Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien (CSDCEO).
In both French school boards, the OSSTF/FEESO only represents support staff. Teachers are represented by another organization.
English Catholic school districts like the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario were not affected.
School districts affected by the strike have issued notices through email and their websites of school closures.
For the UCDSB, this means all the district’s programs for grades 9 to 12, and for students in specialized programs for grades 7 to 12 were cancelled for the day. UCDSB kindergarten programs and classes for grades 1 to 8 were open, even if they took place in local high schools. Community programs that took place after-hours in local high schools were not affected.
For the CEPEO, all elementary and secondary schools were closed all day. Before-school and after-school care programs at CEPEO schools were also suspended for the day, though any daycare programs operated by community partners at CEPEO schools were still open.
