Vankleek Hill loses to Gatineau


The Vankleek Hill Cougars had just one game on the NCJHL schedule for the November 23 weekend and that was on their own ice against the Gatineau Hull-Volant. Gatineau beat Vankleek Hill 7-5. The Cougars finish off November hosting the Morrisburg Lions this Saturday.

The Vankleek Hill Cougars had just one game on their November 23 weekend schedule and they lost Saturday night 7-5 to the Gatineau Hull-Volant.

Nicolas Castonguay scored two goals for Vankleek Hill, with fellow Cougars Nikolas Ayotte, Mathieu Cloutier, and Maxim Rozon popping in singles. Assisting on the goals were Rozon, Justin Chaumont, Vincent Huneault, Zack Labbé, Jonathan Lacroix, Jonathan Leblanc, and Joey Simoneau. Frederick Durocher-Bourdon warded the net.

Scoring two points each for Gatineau were Jérémy Cardinal and Danny Plourde-Grenon. Single goals came from Yoan Charron, Dave Fréchette, and Hugo Lusignan. Assisting on the goals were Cardinal, Charron, Lusignan, Plourde-Grenon, Simon Juneau-Richer, Zakary Phaneuf, Mattias Roy, and Jérémy Trudeau. Marc Olivier-Bastien guarded the net.

The Cougars host the Morrisburg Lions November then face the Castors the following Sunday in Clarence Creek.

Clarence Creek

The Clarence Creek Castors were in Saint-Isidore Sunday night and beat the home team 4-2.

Scoring two goals for the Castors was Brandon Legare, with Samuel Gaudet and Austin Laprade providing single points to the tally. Assisting on the goals were Dominik Bourgeois and Logan Lefbvre, with Andrew Larivière guarding the net.

Saint-Isidore goals came from Jeremy Arbour and Sebastien Roy, with goal assists coming from Kevin Howson, Alexis Leclerc, and Patrick Ranger. Dawson Irving was in the net.

The Castors are in Gatineau November 29. They host Vankleek Hill December 1.

Saint-Isidore

The November 23 weekend was not a good one for Saint-Isidore in the National Capital Junior Hockey League.

The West Carleton Inferno burned Saint-Isidore 6-3 Saturday night then the Clarence Creek Castors came to the Saint-Isidore Arena Sunday night and left with a 4-2 win.

Scoring against West Carleton Saturday night were Mathieu Grandmont with two goals and Kevin Howson with a single. Assisting on the goals were Nicholas Chatelain, Frédérik Laflèche, and Nicholas Roy. Joshua Ivanski was in the net.

Corey Symington scored a four-goal hat trick for West Carleton. Single points came from Ryan Nugent and Matt Tardioli. Assisting on the goals were Nugent, Austin Hutt, Noah Jesson, Callum Roque, and Gabriel Veyt. Nathan Cheung guarded the net.

Saint-Isidore goals Sunday night came from Jeremy Arbour and Sebastien Roy, with goal assists coming from Kevin Howson, Alexis Leclerc, and Patrick Ranger. Dawson Irving was in the net.
