Cougars burn the Jets and the Inferno

The Vankleek Hill Cougars had a good November 10 weekend as they burned both the Metcalfe Jets and the West Carleton Inferno.

The Cougars grounded the Jets 6-4 last Friday, at the Larry Robinson Arena in Metcalfe. Vincent Huneault and Jonathan Lacroix each scored two goals for the Cougars. Popping in single points were Nikolas Ayotte and Justin Chaumont.

Assisting on the goals were Nicolas Castonguay, Zack Labbé, Trystan Lavoie, Alexis Malette, Keean McEachern, and Maxim Rozon. Frederick Durocher-Bourdon guarded the net.

Goals for the Jets came from Mike Armstrong, Mark Brosseau, Chris Martin, and Conor Roche. Goal assists came from Martin, Rocco Barresi, Josh Boice, Mackenzie Brewer, Alexandre Cloutier, and Justin Jeffery. Jett Miller was in the net.

The Cougars snuffed the Inferno 6-3 Saturday night, at the Vankleek Hill Arena, over the November 10 weekend. Nikolas Ayotte scored a hat trick for the home team, and assisted on two other goals. Finishing off the score with single points were Zack Labbé, Jake Lalonde, and Samuel Lemay.

Also assisting on the goals were Lemay, Justin Chaumont, Trystan Lavoie, Keean McEachern, and Joey Simoneau. Nicolas Wilson guarded the Cougars’ net.

Goals for West Carleton included two by Corey Symington and a single from Joe Shrubsole. Goal assists came from Colin Gourgon and Noah Jesson. Nathan Cheung was in the net.

The Cougars host the Metcalfe Jets November 16.

Castors take two weekend losses

The November 10 weekend was not a good one for the Clarence Creek Castors.

The Castors got crowned 6-4 by the Bytown Royals in last Friday’s road match.

Scoring goals for Clarence Creek were Brandon Legare and Jacob Servant. Assists came from Nicholas Gaumond, Nathan Melée, and Gabriel Rouselle. Andrew Larivière and Braden Penberthy shared goalkeeping duty.

Scoring a hat trick for the Royals was Joshua Renaud, with single points from Mathieu Laurin, Luigi Peloso, and Lucas Prud’homme. Goal assists came from Peloso, Jonathan Cauchon, Marc Charron, Francis Dall, Mickey George, and Mathie O’Toole.

Sunday afternoon at home, the Castors lost 5-4 to the Gatineau Hull-Volant.

Samuel Gaudet scored two goals for the Castors. Single points came from Zachary Payer and Jacob Servant. Assisting on the goals were Payer, Servant, Nicholas Gaumond, Nikolas Guindon, and Zack Lugli. Andrew Larivière was in the goal.

Scoring for Gatineau were Yoan Charron, Brad Faubert, Dave Fréchette, Zakary Phaneuf, and Pascal Vachon. Goal assists came from Phaneuf, Vachon, Jérémie Cardinal, Olivier Dubois, Simon Juneau-Richer, Samuel Lamontagne, and Jérémy Trudeau. Jérémy Martin guarded the net.

The Castors host the South Grenville Rangers November 17.

Saint-Isidore splits weekend games

Saint-Isidore finished its November 10 weekend game schedule with the same score, for a win and a loss.

The score last Friday was 5-2 for the Gatineau Hull-Volant against Saint-Isidore and again Sunday night but in Saint-Isidore’s favour against the North Dundas Rockets.

Jakob Brunette and Patrick Ranger accounted for Saint-Isidore’s points last Friday in Gatineau. Goal assists came from Jeremy Arbour and Mathieu Grandmont, with Dawson Irving and Joshua Ivanski sharing goalkeeping duty.

Scoring for Gatineau were Yoan Charron, Dave Fréchette, Hugo Lusignan, Matthias Roy, and Pascal Vachon. Goal assists came from Charron, Vachon, Simon Juneau-Richer, Zakary Phaneuf, Danny Plourde-Grenon, and Jérémy Trudeau. Marc-Olivier Bastien guarded the net.

Sunday night at home, it was 5-2 for Saint-Isidore against the North Dundas Rockets.

Punching in two goals each for the home team were Philippe Brunet and Mathieu Grandmont, with Patrick Ranger tossing in a single point. Assisting on the goals were Brunet, Grandmont, Kevin Howson, Frédérik Laflèche, Alexis Leclerc, Bruno Leclerc, and Nicholas Roy. Dawson Irving guarded the net.

Rockets goals came from Justin Lefebvre and Brad Nash, with goal assists by Nicholas Carroll, Francis Proulx, and Aidan Whynot. Sebastien Moreau was in the net.

Saint-Isidore hosts the Bytown Royals in a Sunday night rematch, November 17.
