During the regular meeting of The Nation council on October 3, it voted on which contract bid to accept for the installation of guardrails for the twin culvert on Indian Creek Road. The contract was posted for a month, during which two bids were received.

A company called 535276 Ontario Inc. submitted a bid in the amount of $64,493.52, and a company called Peninsula Construction Ltd. submitted a bid in the amount of $58,443.60. The report received by council recommended that Peninsula Construction’s bid be accepted, as it was the lower of the two and the company does good work. The report was prepared by Joanne Bougie-Normand and revised by Public Works Director Marc Legault and Chief Administrative Officer Josée Brizard.

The City of Ottawa is sharing half the cost of the project, meaning The Nation and Ottawa will each pay $29,221.80. The Nation currently has an amount of $800,000 budgeted for 2022.
