U.S.-based real estate investment trust EPR Properties has acquired Calypso Waterpark and Village Vacances Valcartier resort near Quebec City for $142 million US, or around $179 million Canadian. Oklahoma-based Premier Parks will manage the properties, but Sylvain Lauzon, president and chief operating officer at Calypso-Valcartier Group, will continue to lead operations.

“There is simply no other group in our industry that has more experience designing, building and operating visitor attractions,” Lauzon said about Premier Parks. “We look forward to working together to grow our parks and continue to offer unforgettable memories for our visitors.”

Premier Parks manages more than a dozen amusement and water parks in North America, and Calypso will join them. The park opened in 2010 and is Canada’s largest waterpark, featuring 35 waterslides, Canada’s largest wave pool, and two lazy river features.
