A woman was pronounced dead after being hit by a car on November 12 in Hawkesbury.

The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating an incident that occurred at 8:25 p.m. on November 12. OPP responded to a collision on McGill Street, where a female pedestrian was struck by a single vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

The driver was not hurt and is not facing charges, and neither person’s identity will be released to preserve privacy. McGill Street was closed between Spence Avenue and Country Road 17 for several hours but has since reopened.
