All eight municipalities and the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR) are getting money this year from the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF). The Ontario Ministry of Infrastructure announced, January 20, OCIF funding allocations for all of Eastern Ontario.

The combined OCIF total for the Prescott-Russell region is $4,686,368. That includes $1,718,078 for the UCPR.
OCIF funding for individual municipalities includes: $56,261 for East Hawkesbury Township, $653,336 for the Town of Hawkesbury, $136,778 for Champlain Township, $296,569 for Alfred-Plantagenet Township, $183,318 for the Village of Casselman, $417,421 for The Nation Municipality, $633,517 for Russell Township, and $591,090 for the City of Clarence-Rockland. North Glengarry Township in neighbouring Glengarry County will get $204,790.
OCIF funding goes to municipalities with populations under 100,000. The money is for local infrastructure needs. Communities that receive OCIF funds are allowed to bank their annual allocations over a five-year period in special reserve funds, for major infrastructure project plans.
