Ontario Provincial Police in Clarence-Rockland carried out a major drug operation involving tactical teams and canine units, resulting in the arrest of a 24-year-old from the city and two others from Ottawa, just 17 and 18 years of age.
On Tuesday, March 12, police officers from the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) made two arrests in Ottawa. Following those arrests, on Wednesday March 13, OPP arrested a third individual from Clarence-Rockland.
During the execution of the search warrant, police seized 80 opioid pills including Oxycodone and Dilaudid (prescription painkillers), over an ounce of crack cocaine, almost an ounce of cocaine, more than $1400 in Canadian currency, six cell phones, scales, a knife, break in tools, balaclavas and gloves.
As a result, a 17-year-old and 18-year old from Ottawa were each charged with several counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance, possession of proceeds and property obtained by crime under $5,000 and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The 24-year-old in the City of Clarence-Rockland was charged similarly, in addition to possession of break in tools.
The accused are to appear at the L’Orignal Court of Justice at a later date.
