It’s an event that promises some glitz and glamour, all while raises awareness and funds for a historic community structure.
The first of what hopes to be an annual event, the Sparkle and Pine Cocktail Gala Fundraiser is taking place on Thursday, Nov. 28 at the legendary Tucker House, located at 1731 Tucker Road in Rockland.
The inaugural Sparkle and Pine Cocktail Gala Fundraiser takes place from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m and includes a silent auction that raises funds for Tucker House’s various community initiatives.
“We’re excited to bring the Rockland community together for a night that celebrates food, fashion and philanthropy,” said Chantal Sarkisian, the event’s host and organizer. “The Sparkle and Pine Gala is about making meaningful connections, while raising crucial funds to support Tucker House’s mission of sustainability and community care.”
Originally from Toronto, Sarkisian has lived in Rockland for the past three years. After living in the busy, fast-moving pace of the Toronto life, Sarkisian found that her circle was a little smaller than it once was.
Sarkisian said she wanted to create something for the community, while bringing together local business leaders and entrepreneurs for an evening of mingling and networking, all while shining a spotlight on the Tucker House.
“I come from a background in fundraising, and we would always organize one, big fundraising event a year that would really be the most important one,” she said. “It’s one of those events that welcomes anyone and gives them a chance to get out that dress they have wanted to wear for so long, or that suit that you haven’t had a chance to wear. Guests are encouraged to dress to impress as the evening will celebrate not only community spirit but also style and elegance.”
The Sparkle and Pine Gala promises to be a dazzling affair, combining the natural beauty of the Rockland area with the glitz and glamour of a cocktail evening. The event will feature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres prepared by Chef Nouk, DJ Karyen, and a fashion presentation by local boutique Bel’Ortie.”
Sarkisian said she would like the Sparkle and Pine Gala a yearly event for the community and raise awareness for the work that the Tucker House does.
