Darryl Van Moorsel of London won the Kin Club of Russell’s Catch the Ace’s weekly prize of $21,966 this past Sunday, July 7.
Van Moorsel selected envelope #31 which revealed the King of Diamonds.
The next effort to find the Ace will be held next week. The jackpot is estimated at $649,000 with 18 envelopes left.
All proceeds after approved expenses, goes to charity. Since starting the Catch the Ace lottery eight years ago, the Kin Club of Russell has raised over nine million dollars, including $4.5 million in prizes and four million dollars in donations to local charities.
Anyone interested to purchase tickets in person can visit the over 46 locations shared between Casselman, Embrun, Limoges, Russell, and other neighbouring regions or on the Kin Club of Russell’s website under Catch the Ace until 11:59 p.m. every Saturday night.
The seven charities participating for this lottery are the Breast Cancer Action Ottawa, the Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, the Good Neighbours Food Bank (Township of Russell), the Kin Club of Russell’s Storage Centre for Local Service Clubs and Charities, the Valoris Foundation, the WDMH Foundation, and the Youth Sporting Equipment.
The Catch the Ace lottery live broadcasts the draws every Sunday at 3:15 p.m. on the Kin Club of Russell’s Facebook page. Winners are contacted by phone live during the draw.
