Officers from the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) made four arrests on Nov. 5 following the recovery of a stolen vehicle.
Police stopped the vehicle, which was travelling eastbound on Highway 417 in Champlain Township, at approximately 4:25 a.m.
Three adults, 23-year-old Kane Abdoulaye of Montreal, 20-year-old Marc Tony Cadet of Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, and 18-year-old Delmarkson Rod of Longueuil, were arrested and charged under the Criminal Code of Canada. Their charges include possessing an automobile master key and possession of break-in instruments. All three were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 27 at the L’Orignal Court of Justice.
A 17-year-old male from Montreal was also arrested in connection with the stolen vehicle. Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, his identity cannot be released. He faces charges under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Highway Traffic Act, including theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and driving without a license. The youth was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 28 at the L’Orignal Court of Justice.
