Two individuals were arrested on separate charges after a domestic violence call early Friday morning, Oct. 4.

After responding to a call regarding intimate partner violence around 2:35 a.m. on Friday, Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were informed the suspect and another individual had fled the scene in a car.

After patrolling the area, police identified the vehicle shortly after 4 a.m. with the suspect in the passenger seat. The driver of vehicle was tested for alcohol consumption with an Approved Screening Device (ASD) and failed. Both individuals were arrested and brought to the detachment.

As a result, a 39-year-old from Russell was charged with assault and a 43-year-old, also from Russell, was charged with operation of a vehicle while impaired.

Both are scheduled to appear at the L’Orignal Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 27 and Nov. 13, respectively.
