The Rockland Nationals are rolling.

With wins against the Nepean Raiders and the Carleton Place Canadians last weekend, Rockland improves its record to 6-0 to start the 2024-2024 Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) season.

With the back-to-back wins, the Rockland Nationals are now the CCHL’s only unbeaten team.

During that span, the Nationals have allowed a CCHL low seven goals.

Dominant against Nepean

Rockland welcomed the Nepean Raiders for a home matchup on Friday, Sept. 27.

Anthony Hall and Jaco Charron each had two goals to lead the Nationals, while Guillaume Labre, Raphael Tellier, Nolan Turnbull, Deklyn Campbell and Mathys Laurent had one goal each in Rockland’s 8-1 rout of the Raiders.

Charron added two assists, and his four-point outburst earned him first star honours.

Close one against Carleton Place

After an impressive eight goal game against the Raiders at home, the Nats took their winning streak on the road to take on the Carleton Place Canadians.

It was a close matchup between the two teams, but the Nats were able to earn a 2-1 win.

Gabriel Le Houillier opened the scoring, giving Rockland a 1-0 lead.

Rockland held onto that lead well into third period, until Jonah Henderson tied the game up for the home team.

Alex Kelloway answered for the Nationals just over 10 minutes later, which proved to be the game winner.

Benoit Forget stopped 21 of 22 shots he faced, backstopping the Nats in the win.
