The municipality of Russell reached an agreement with the Township of North Dundas for sharing dog pound services.

Since 2000, the municipality of Russell has been providing by-law and pound services to the Township of North Dundas.

Out of convenience, as the municipality had called it, a new contract has been signed between both townships for pound services, costs, and other terms. The agreement is said to not generate a lot of revenue since the estimated number of animals impounded yearly is minimal.

The by-law within the municipality of Russell states that the by-law now authorizes the Mayor and the Clerk to execute and affix the Corporate Seal to a Service Agreement with the Township of North Dundas for dog pound services and that the by-law has taken effect on August 26, 2024.
