St. Thomas Aquinas High School celebrated their 2024 graduating class this past week, marking 19 years of graduation ceremonies at the Russell CDSBEO high school.
On June 26, 114 diplomas and 17 major awards were handed out to the graduating class as family and friends cheered them on through this final chapter of their grade school careers.
Sada Baynham received the Lieutenant Governor Award, who demonstrated outstanding community contributions and Eric Lewertoff received the Governor General’s Academic Medal, having earned the highest average in Grade 11 and Grade 12 courses.
“We grew up wanting to be older, wanting to be like the high schoolers. Now, here we are. We are done. Graduating is a special time for all of us. This is the last moment before we all start our new chapter. This day is a time of reflecting on the past and looking forward to the future. It is a time as a graduating class, as we come together, one last time in ‘hurray’ before moving on to greater opportunities and adventures,” stated valedictorians Cassielle Bles and Sydney Ferreira.
