Casselman municipal council has adopted the 2024 municipal and school tax rates, a penalty and interest for payment in default, as well as the imposition of police, garbage and recycling fees.
The tax rate will levy on Residential Assessment, Multi-Residential Assessment, Office Building Assessment, Commercial Assessment, Industrial Assessment, Pipeline Assessment and Farmland Assessment.
The tax rates and the rates to raise the fees or charges will be in the same proportion as the tax ratios under Section 308 for the property classes are to each other.
For all classes, 50 per cent of the levy will need to be paid by August 29, 2024, and the rest is due on October 29, 2024.
If payment is not completed by the first day of the following month is not completed, a 1.25 per cent penalty will be added on every month until December 2024.
The tax, along with taxes are payable at the Municipal Office in Casselman, Ontario or at any financial institution member of the Canadian Payment Association.
Imposition of police, garbage and recycling fees
The Municipality of Casselman approved to establish levy on Residential, Multi-Residential, Commercial, Industrial and Farmland a fee for a part of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) contract, for garbage and recycling services.
For all classes, 50 per cent of the levy will need to be paid by August 29, 2024, and the rest is due on October 29, 2024.
