A shooting that took place on Sainte-Anne Road in Champlain Township early April targeted the wrong address, according to Ontario Provincial Police in Hawkesbury.

On the night of April 7 around 11:30 p.m., shots were fired at a residence along the rural road between Highway 17 and Charbonneau Road. Following the incident, police only reported a ‘suspicious incident’ in the area and did not disclose that shots were fired.

Police now confirm the shooting and believe the suspects targeted the wrong residence.

No injuries were reported as result of the shooting, and police have indicated there is currently no threat to public safety. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information or surveillance footage is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Those who wish to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
