Two drivers from Rockland were charged in the past few weeks.
On November 24 around 11 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a traffic complaint on County Road 17 in Clarence-Rockland. After using an Approved Screening Device (ASD), officers arrested Boniface Ciza, 52, from Clarence-Rockland who was charged with driving with a blood alcohol concentration of over 80.
Officers conducted a traffic stop in Clarence-Rockland on December 6 after a vehicle ran a stop sign on St-Jean Street around 11:30 p.m. After a breathalyzer test, officers arrested Atul Vishal, 40, from Clarence-Rockland and charged him with driving with a blood alcohol concentration of over 80 and failing to stop at a stop sign.
Their licences were suspended for 90 days and their vehicles were impounded for seven days. They’re scheduled to appear in court in L’Orignal at a later date.
