Russell Township has officially joined the Coalition of Inclusive Municipalities.

Demonstrating a commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable community, Russell Township has officially joined the Coalition of Inclusive Municipalities (CIM). As a member of CIM, Russell is now also a member of the International Coalition of Inclusive and Sustainable Cities (ICCAR). Under the Canadian Commission for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Coalition works to combat racism and all forms of discrimination throughout over 100 member municipalities across Canada.

The Coalition has provided a toolkit titled ‘The Coalition of Inclusive Municipalities: A Guide for New and Established Members,’ designed to facilitate local partners in supporting the Township’s commitments towards inclusion and diversity.
