The Vankleek Hill Cougars had one win and one loss last weekend after their October winning streak ended.
The Cougars faced off against the Metcalfe Jets on Friday, November 17, traveling to their home turf at the Larry Robinson Arena. The Cougars didn’t give the Jets any room to breathe, racking up two points in the first period and stopping them from making any shots in return. Both teams got one goal in the second period, but the Cougars stayed resilient, and the Jets were unable to overtake them. The Cougars slapped two pucks past the Jets’ goalie in the third period, for a final score of 5-2 in favour of the Cougars.
The Cougars’ goals were scored by Bruno Laframboise, Zachary Sullivan, and Jérémy Marcotte, assisted by Liam Lavictoire, Garrett Cunning, Zachary Bigras, and Any Lightle-Blais.
The next day on November 18, the Gatineau-Hull Volants visited the Vankleek Hill Arena to wrestle a victory out of the Cougars. The teams seemed evenly matched, with the Volants only scoring one goal over the Cougars, but the rest of the game hit the home team hard. The Volants scored three goals each in the second and third periods, while the Cougars only managed one. The final score was 8-2 in favour of the Volants.
The Cougars’ goals were scored by Sullivan and Laframboise, assisted by Cunning and Malcom Seguin.
Their next game is on November 25 at the Vankleek Hill Arena against the South Grenville Rangers.
