Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) confirmed the discovery of a body in Casselman on Friday, November 18.  

Édition André Paquette received a report from a resident on Friday afternoon that there was a significant police presence in Casselman and a body was retrieved from the river. The OPP later confirmed they responded to a suspicious death shortly after noon.

Foul play is not suspected and there is no threat to public safety, according to an OPP spokesperson. 

Police did not offer further details on the location, age, gender or possible identity of the body.
