The Vankleek Hill Cougars have continued their winning streak into November with three straight wins over the November 3 weekend.
The Vankleek Hill Cougars continue to dominate the league with three straight wins over the first weekend of the month. During the first game on November 3, the Cougars went up against the Westport Rideaus, who managed the first goal of the game before the Cougars came back with two. Although the Rideaus tried valiantly to overtake the Cougars once again, they simply weren’t able to, and the Cougars pulled away with a 4-2 victory.
The Cougars’ goals were scored by Maxime Laliberte, Andy Lightle-Blais, Rowan Mcpherson, and Malcolm Seguin, assisted by Joshua Desjardins, Brenden Easterbrook, Zachary Bigras, and Nathan Williams.
The next day on November 4, the Cumberland Castors gave the Cougars a run for their money by scoring two goals in the first period and not letting the Cougars take a single shot in response. The Cougars rallied in the second period and took the lead for themselves, scoring four goals for themselves and stopping the Castors from scoring any in turn. The third period was a pitched battle between the two teams, and although the casters fought hard for their two goals, the Cougars got one more past the net for a 5-4 Vankleek Hill victory.
The Cougars’ goals were scored by Jérémy Marcotte, Zachary Sullivan, Seguin, and Williams, assisted by Mathieu Levesque, Luka Tomich, Laliberte, Mikael Bissonnette, and Lightle-Blais.
In the last game on November 5, the Cougars once again went up against the Morrisburg Lions, who were in to avenge their defeat on October 21. The Cougars weren’t about to let that slide though and gave the Lions no room to breathe the entire game. Although the Lions tried their best, the Cougars effortlessly took home the win with a final score of 8-4.
The Cougars’ goals were scored by Mcpherson, Seguin, Garrett Cunning, Laliberte, and Mikael Bigras, assisted by Levesque, Lightle-Blais, Alexander Perry, Tomich, Bruno Laframboise, Mathieu Belanger, Matheo Pierre-Mercier, and Mikael Bigras.
Their next game will be on November 14, once again against the Westport Rideaus.
