The Vankleek Lions Club hopes to see sunshine this Sunday because it is time for the club’s annual Garlic Festival.
« There will be a wide variety of products, » said Stuart Wood, festival spokesman. « Everything from varieties of raw garlic to (garlic) oils and other assorted food dressings. »
The VKH Lions Club Garlic Festival sets up displays outside of the community centre on Mill Street, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday.
Wood confirmed that a dozen vendors of garlic and garlic products will be on site, and the club is also arranging for other activities as part of the festival. He noted that fans of the savoury herb will not be disappointed with the offerings at the booths.
« It’s been a good crop year, I’m told, » he said. « A very good year for garlic. »
