Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (CSDBEO) trustee and board chair Sue Wilson, representing the United Counties of Prescott and Russell, was appointed to sit on the Minister’s Advisory Council on Special Education (MACSE).

The MASCE was set up to advise the Ontario education minister on special education programs and services, including early intervention programs for students with special educational needs. The interests of the Francophone, Roman Catholics, youth and Indigenous communities are represented on the council. The appointment is for a two-year term.

“I am extremely honoured to have the privilege of serving on the Minister’s Advisory Council on Special Education. I look forward to working with the Council and representing my constituency to serve students in this capacity, which complements my involvement with the CDSBEO Special Education Advisory Committee,” stated Wilson in the press release.

Wilson has served as a CSDBEO trustee since 1999 and has long been involved with the board special education advisory committee, where she has served as chair since 2001. Wilson was vice-chair of the board from 2020 to 2022 and was appointed chair in November following the municipal elections.
