A Rockland woman who is a longtime lottery player claimed a $300,000 prize on a ticket she purchased in Orleans.
The woman regularly purchases Lotto 6/49, Lotto Max, Daily Grand and Lottario tickets. But her big winnings came from one of her favourite instant games, Big Money Pay Day, which she said she even dreamed of winning.
After scanning her Pay Day ticket, she couldn’t believe she had won.
“At first, I thought I won $3,000,” she told OLG officials. “I told the store manager, and she double-checked my ticket. That’s when I discovered I had really won $300,000 – I thought I was still dreaming!”
She will put some of the money towards her daughter’s wedding.
“This is going to reduce some stress,” she said. “I’m amazed, excited, thankful. It’s an unbelievable feeling.”
Instant Big Money Pay Day is a $30 ticket with a top prize of $300,000 and odds of winning any prize one in 4.16.
The winning ticket was purchased at Sobeys on Tenth Line Road in Orleans.
