Gavin Chisholm appears in court
dble homicide case

Gavin Chisholm, 22, of Chute-à-Blondeau, appeared in provincial court in L’Orignal April 27. He is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, resulting from an ongoing joint investigation of the Hawkesbury OPP and the Québec Sûreté of a double-homicide case in the Village of Chute-à-Blondeau in East Hawkesbury Township.

OPP officers went to a residence on Front Street in the village the night of April 19, after receiving a call from the Sûreté about a possible crime scene there that might be related to an assault case investigation by the Québec police force. The officers found the bodies of Sherri Lee Buchanan, 50, and Darren Chisholm, 24, the mother and elder brother of the accused.

Gavin Chisholm was later arrested and charged with murder. The joint investigation continues and includes personnel from the Ontario Chief Coroner’s office and the Centre of Forensic Sciences.
