The team’s latest triumph was in Ottawa during March Break, taking the title at the Ottawa East Minor Hockey Association March Break Tournament.
The young Panthers spent three days on the ice over the weekend and first had to deal with losing two of their three games in the round-robin elimination session. A break came Saturday night when the Metcalfe Jets had to forfeit their scheduled match against the Panthers.
That moved Embrun to second-place in the round-robin and put them into the semi-finals round. The Panthers crowned the Carleton Place Kings 9-3 and the went to shut down the South Stormont Selects in the tournament final.
Playing for this season’s U11 Panthers are: goaltender Arthur Hatt, Jacob Sauvé, Emir Hammoe, Karson Jessop, Logan Bruneau, Nikolas Thibeault, Maxime Maheu, Loik Dabée, Jonah Dauphinée, Mason Western, Kellen Hopkin, Sébastien Loyer, Jayden Chamoun and Mickael Larose. Team coaching staff was Yan Bruneau, head coach, and Jake Western and Dan Thibeault, assistant coaches.
