Festival brings winter fun to Limoges
Limoges Winterfest

Limoges held its first annual WinterFest over the February 18 weekend, drawing a huge crowd of families and children of all ages. The festival was hosted at the Oasis RV Resort and boasted several indoor and outdoor activities.

The kids started out Saturday in their pajamas with the Superhero Brunch, where they enjoyed a plate of breakfast foods while they decorated their very own superhero cape. They used markers, stickers, and glitter to turn themselves into their favorite crime fighter, or to make up a new hero on the spot.

After they donned their superhero disguises to protect their secret identities, their first mission was to jump up and wave their arms as part of the Monkey Rock Music interactive show. Each song got the kids up singing, dancing, following along with actions, and even climbing up on stage.

For those who weren’t completely tuckered out by then, the festival moved outside with a variety of outdoor activities. Older kids could build snowforts and test their skills with a snowball bullseye competition, and younger kids could get pictures with Elsa and Olaf, and enjoy feeding animal chow to the goats at the petting zoo. The weather was fantastic and sunny the whole day, which really allowed the activities to shine and the kids to have a great time.

The day closed out with a free movie screening at 6:30, entertaining kids with a showing of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, complete with free popcorn. The movie got done around 8pm, which let everyone get enough sleep for snowshoeing around the Larose Forest the following morning.
