Due to major rehabilitation work, the Albert Bélanger Bridge located on County Road 8 in Lemieux will be closed until sometime in autumn. There is no exact end date specified as of yet, due to the possibility of unforeseen complications.

Northbound traffic can detour via County Road 16, County Road 9, and County Road 2, while southbound traffic goes to County Roads 2, 9, and 16. Further details are available at www.municipal511.ca.

“As the bridge structure must be fully lifted to perform the work, a complete closure of the lanes in both directions is advisable to ensure the proper execution of this project,” said Jérémie Bouchard, public works director of Public Works for the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR).

“The safety of both the citizens and the workers, the financially responsible implementation of the project, and the timely completion of the work are top priorities for this project,” said UCPR Warden Normand Riopel. “Despite the logistical challenges, every effort will be made to minimize the impact on motorists, residents, and business owners affected by this road closure.”

Questions or concerns may be directed toward the UCPR Public Works office at 613-675-4661 or TravauxPublics@prescott-russell.on.ca.
