The Vankleek Hill Cougars lost their second game in a row Sunday night in a 5-2 away game defeat against first-place Gatineau Hull-Volant.

“We had our chances but we weren’t opportunistic.” said Head Coach Franky Dopelhammer. “The score doesn’t reflect how the game was played.”

Dopelhammer noted that some key players could not attend Sunday’s game, forcing other players to step up. He hopes to pick up the pace in the next few weeks as the Cougars will be facing lower standing teams.

“We have a favorable schedule to start a winning streak,” he said. “Those games are very important.”

The Cougars’ home game on Saturday was postponed due to bad weather. In such cases, away teams decide if they are willing to travel or not. Games in CCJHL and EOJHL were also cancelled on Saturday night.
