At the first full meeting of its new mandate, the Clarence-Rockland municipal council received the 2023 budget time table from the city’s director of finance, defining when the draft budget will be received, deliberated and approved by council.

The first step of the process will be to present council with a draft budget report outlining how the new tax rate was achieved and any and all detailed adjustments needed for the 2023 budget. This draft will be provided to council by December 19.

According to documents submitted to council, a presentation will explain all significant changes to the operational budget, followed by a questions period where adjustments can be proposed. Capital projects, long-term projects such as major construction projects, are to be presented one at a time for review and approval by council.

Council deliberations are to take place January 9 and 10, with the final budget approval set for end of January or early February.
